Bio
The Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble is the brainchild of virtuoso precussionist and drummer, Varun Venkit (Agnee). Besides the staple drum kit, Varun plays the Mridangam, Dhol, the Conga,the Bongo, the Darbuka, the Tar, the Dafli and the Daf. Currently the ensemble performs traditional West-African folk songs in a more contemporary and relevant, 21st century setting. Mamady Keita, Santana, Sergio Mendez, Indian Ocean, Famoudou Konate, N’Diale and more influence the music of Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble. Pulsating, earthy and primal rhythms, catchy vocal hooks and tight breaks is what you will get with this group of drummers and singers.
