Swarathma

Bio

Swarathma is a folk-fusion band from Bangalore. Winners of Radio City Live 2008, Swarathma's music combines folk tunes with western sounds. The six-member act was one of the four bands from India who recorded with John Leckie (producer The Stone Roses, Radiohead, etc) as part of the British Council’s Soundpad project, and followed that up by playing at The Great Escape Festival in the UK. The band released its eponymous debut album on EMI Music in 2009, and released a music video for the song 'Pyaasi' (featuring guest vocals by Shubha Mudgal).
