Tell us about ‘July People’.
Sandy wrote this song in end-2008, driven by a need to play a running guitar line guitar over a song, and write out an image in his head of being really low but having someone around to lift him up. The final music and arrangements fell in place around mid-2009.

Its a love song. Not about the rush-of-blood teenage love but the kind you experience when you’re older, either married or having been with someone for a long while, when you’ve been through your battles already. About the comforting knowledge that there’s always someone around to save you from yourself.

The name – It’s about feeling a connection with people – other July People in this instance. July People – Crabs – Sideways on the beach. Go figure.

Complete the sentence: We are so un-metal that…
… we write songs about real moments in our lives.
