Dream Makers announce third anniversary
Mumbai artist management agency Dream Makers celebrates its third anniversary this year, and they’re having a gig to celebrate. The Dream Makers Third Anniversary artist showcase will feature performances by seven acts from the agency’s roster on November 20 at Blue Frog, Mumbai. The night will see sets by singer-songwriter Ayush Shrestha, the Reuel Benedict Collective, Empty Cafe, Filter Coffee, Winit Tikoo and The Family Cheese. The night also marks the debut live performance of Letters, the new band setup of ex-Spud In The Box drummer Vivaan Kapoor and Tejas Narayan of ArbitRandom Studios (check out their debut single here). TL Mazumdar releases single
Experimental singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist TL Mazumdar is set to release his sophomore album, titled Bideshi Uebersetzungs Collective (BUeC) soon, and has just released the first single off the album as a free download. The single, titled ‘You’ll Be The One’, sees collaborations with Kolkata virtuoso Amyt Datta on guitars and Jivraj Singh on drums. Frame/Frame releases ‘Take Me Into Your Skin’ remix
Delhi electronica producer Nikhil Kaul aka Frame/Frame has been making waves with his new EP Swimmers (more on that here) recently, and now, he’s dropped a bootleg remix of Danish producer Trentemøller’s ‘Take Me Into Your Skin’. Kaul lists Trentemøller’s The Last Resort as a major influence, and his remix of the track is a fitting tribute. Check it out below.
Jamsteady featuring Ocean Club announced
The next edition of Kolkata’s Jamsteady series of gigs at Princeton Club will be a rather special one. On November 1 (that’s tomorrow), Kolkata musician Nischay Parekh will launch his debut album Ocean (listen to it here, if you haven’t already) in his home city, accompanied by Jivraj Singh and Dylan Varner Hartley. The night will also see an opening set by Varner Hartley. The gig kicks off at 8.30pm, and entry is Rs 100. Check out a poster below.
The Live Music Project announces Tribute to Jazzy Joe
The next in Goa collective The Live Music Project’s series of gigs features a tribute to Goan jazz artist Joe Pereira aka Jazzy Joe. The gig, which takes place on November 2, will feature Jazz Goa artists including Susan Rocha on vocals, Benoy Rai on guitar, Carlos Gonsalves on percussion, Joshua Costa on keyboards, Colin D’Cruz on bass and Alan Moraes on drums as well as Periera’s son Christopher Pereira on clarinet, accompanied by some of his students. The gig kicks off at 7.30pm at Baywatch Resort, Colva.
