Sunburn Arena to feature Avicii
The folks at Sunburn have kicked off the year well, announcing a Sunburn Arena tour with Dutch DJ Hardwell and selling out early bird tickets for Sunburn Goa within hours of release. Now, they’ve announced the headliner for the next Sunburn Arena tour which takes place from December 6 to 8. Swedish DJ Avicii (pictured) is set to burn up the decks at the December edition of the Sunburn Arena. This will come as good news to his fans who were disappointed at the cancellation of his tour in April (due to ill health). Dates for Avicii’s tour are below.
December 6 – Mumbai

December 8 – Delhi

Afterlife 2013 announced
Afterlife 2013 is a two-day-long music festival organised by Pune event company Simple Concepts. Set to take place at Laxmi Lawns (the venue of the 2011 edition of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender) on September 28 and 29, the lineup features prominent metal bands from Mumbai and Pune, as well as rock acts like Bandish. Tickets for the festival are priced at Rs 500 for a day pass and Rs 800 for a two-day pass, and can be bought here.
Sandunes album launch tour announced
Mumbai producer Sandunes is set to launch her debut album, Ever Bridge, this weekend, with a tour to support it. The launch tour takes her to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Bangalore, check out tour details and a promo below.

Direct Dil Se festival announced
Festival season is indeed on, and Direct Dil Se, a day-long Delhi festival is a confluence of health and music that celebrates World Heart Day. Scheduled for September 29 at Delhi’s Siri Fort Auditorium, the festival will see performances by the likes of Shibani Kashyap, Suhail Yusuf Khan and Sufi singers The Wadali Brothers, and a grand collaborative performance featuring a star cast of fusion artists as listed below.

Junkyard Groove release new single
Chennai band Junkyard Groove have just put out a new single. The track, ‘In Your Eyes’, will feature on the band’s sophomore album Accidental Heroes. The band toured to preview the album a few months ago, and have already released three singles, ‘Speed of Love‘, ‘Beautiful Crime‘ and ‘Four Or Five Things’, which will feature on the album. Folk Nations collaborative tour announced
Ongoing British Council project Folk Nations (details) explores collaborations between artists from the UK and South Asia, and they’re organising a new tour. The tour will see Scottish fiddle player Patsy Reid perform with sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan, Carnatic percussionist Ghatam Giridhar Udupa, and tabla artist Shariq Mustafa. The musicians will perform in Mumbai and Chennai this week, check out dates below.

Sanjeev T releases music video
Kochi singer-songwriter Sanjeev T has just released a new music video for the track ‘Chekele’. The track forms part of the singer’s debut album, Epic Shit, which is due to release on October 2. The video for the melodious track was shot in the backwaters of Kerala and features performances by Baiju Dharmajan, Roop Thomas and more. Watch it below.
Unseen Underground annonce Sonic Stone Fest
Sonic Stone Fest, the latest in Unseen Underground‘s gig calendar, is set to take place on October 5 at The Spring Hotel, Chennai. On the lineup are Delhi metal act Undying Inc, who recently released a new single and will make their Chennai debut with the gig, as well as Chennai death metal act Crypted and Escher’s Knot. The gig kicks off at 8.00pm, and you can RSVP here. Check out a poster below.
