Today’s playlist spun by new girl on the block, Shaleena.
The Indiecision Five at 5 has become somewhat of an initiation ritual here at NH7 HQ. Today, new girl Shaleena Saraogi picks your playlist.
1. The Neighbourhood – ‘Wires’
If you’re one of those people listening to ‘Sweater Weather’ on repeat, it’s about time you checked out some other songs by The Neighbourhood. ‘Wires’, I love listening to this while traveling while I ponder the answer to life, universe and you know… everything.
2. Bastille – ‘Pompeii’
This is one band I can’t seem to get enough. It’s particularly hard picking my favorite song by them, because it changes depending on the mood I am in.
3. Ben Howard – ‘Old Pine’
Ben Howard, his soothing, mellow music is my go to choice when I wake up, when the traffic is getting to me and when I’m about to sleep. His voice has an almost calming effect that manages to put me in a good mood.
4. Bon Iver – ‘Holocene’
‘Holocene’ is a song by an American indie folk band fronted by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. The song leaves you in a slightly, let’s say, melancholy state once you’re done listening to it.
4. Ed Sheeran and The Passenger – ‘No Diggity – Thrift Shop’ (cover)
If you haven’t heard this cover yet, listen to it now! Ed Sheeran and The Passenger’s version of ‘No Diggity – Thrift Shop’ make me actually like these songs. No offence to the originals.
5. Capital Cities – ‘Safe And Sound’
What a video. I want to be a part of that dance off! You know when you hear some lyrics they just stay with you, like “even if we’re six feet underground, I know that we’ll be safe and sound”.
