goMAD Festival 2013 Lineup Announced

The lineup for the October edition of Ooty’s goMAD Festival has just been announced, and it features a good mix of both veteran and newer Indian indie acts, alongside a few international names.

The second edition of the goMAD Festival (previously called the M.A.D Festival) is set to take place at the Fernhills Palace Grounds, Ooty, from October 25 to 27.  The festival was earlier scheduled to take place in May, with a lineup that included Mumbai bands PentagramAgnee and Blek, Bangalore rockers Thermal And A Quarter, blues act Blues Conscience and more. Pictured inside are Shillong act Afflatus from the 2012 edition of the festival. Last month, it was confirmed that the festival would be held in October, and now, a full lineup has been revealed.

The festival is divided into areas which include the usual bazaar and food court areas, as well as live stages, a drum circle area, a “Jam Base”, and more. The lineup for the October edition of the festival retains some of the original names, including Parikrama and Bombay Bassment, but has several new acts on the bill including Australian multi-instrumentalist Luke Jon Shearer, New Orleans soul and spoken word act Tank And The Bangas, Austin singer-songwriter/producer Loryn, Lahore rockers Noori, and a host of upcoming and veteran Indian acts including young Bangalore ensemble Clown With A Frown, Baiju Dharmajan Syndicate, Kolkata trio Gandu CircusThe F16s (stream their debut EP on the NH7 Audiolizer here), The Vinyl Records, Shillong blues act Soulmate (pictured outside) and more.

Early Bird tickets for the festival, priced at Rs 2,000, are now available.
