Avi & The Uprising release debut music video
Delhi folk- rock act Avi & The Uprising have just released their debut music video for the track ‘Boom Boom Shiva’. The track is also the first single they’ll release from their upcoming debut album. The video features a montage of street performers including fire breathers, magicians, stilt walkers and contortionists, as well as footage of the band performing the track on a rooftop. Junkyard Groove album preview tour announced
The Chennai alt-rockers are set to release their sophomore album this September, and they’re touring the country so that fans can get a taste of it. Their album preview, which kicks off today, sees them play gigs in Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore. The Mumbai leg of their tour sees them play a set at the Radio City Freedom Awards tomorrow, and that gig is invite-only. The other two gigs are open to all. Check out dates and venues below:
May 29 – 9.00pm @ Swig, Pune
May 30 – Radio City Freedom Awards, Mumbai
May 31 – 8.30pm @ The BFlat Bar, Bangalore
Frank’s Got The Funk release new single
In more news from down south, Chennai alt-rock act Frank’s Got The Funk have just released a new single on their SoundCloud page. Titled ‘Land Of The Dreamer’, the groovy track is an ode to the band’s home city. You can check out some cover art for the song, and stream the single below:
Your Chin to play at The Humming Tree opening, Bangalore
The garden city now has a brand new nightspot. The Humming Tree in Indiranagar will serve as a new gig venue, eatery and bar, and if the photos on their page are anything to go by, things look promising. The venue opens tonight (May 29), with a gig by Your Chin, the indie-pop alter ego of Sky Rabbit frontman Raxit Tewari. Also on the bill is a secret opening act, so if you’re planning to go, make sure you get there on time. The gig kicks off at 8pm and entry is by invite only, so start hunting down your contacts in high places to score a spot on the list. Check out a sweet poster below:
