Swedish heavy metal band Nale (pictured) will headline the 2013 edition of NIT-Silchar’s annual battle-of-the-bands competition Thundermarch. The festival will also be headlined by Guwahati alt-metal band Lucid Recess. The competition is part of the college’s annual cultural festival Incandescence 2013, and will take place on Sunday, March 10. Thundermarch has previously seen performances by bands like Chronic Xorn, Demonic Resurrection, Undying Inc., and Boomerang.

The competition will begin at 10am in the morning on March 10 and will feature performances by 20 bands, out of which five will be selected to play in the finals. The final round will then see the five bands battling it out for the top spot in the competition. The winning band will get a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and other assorted prizes. The bands can also win in categories such as Best Vocalist, Best Guitarist, Best Bass Guitar Player and Best Drummer.
