Flyte celebrates birthday with free downloads
Flyte, Flipkart’s online music store, turns a year old on February 28. To celebrate, they’re giving away a hundred albums a day. You heard that right. Over the next week, the website has various albums from myriad genres up for free download, all easily found on their Birthday page. Some of the albums on offer today include Jack White’s Blunderbuss, Led Zeppelin IV, and Snoop Dogg’s Tha Blue Carpet Treatment. New albums will be added to the list every day, and you can check back here all the way till February 28. Also, check out deals on Indian indie releases at the NH7 Music Store, also powered by Flyte.
Live From The Console returns, with Sound City screening
Live From The Console kicks off their 2013 on March 2, returning to Mehboob Studios after their festival edition in Goa (pictures here). The night will begin with a screening of Sound City, which also marks the Indian premiere of the film. The film, directed by all-round-awesomeperson Dave Grohl, is a documentary about Los Angeles’ legendary Sound City Studios. Check out our editor’s notes on a Nerdist podcast that Grohl featured on in the run-up to the film’s release.
The year’s first LFTC will then explode into a dance-themed night. Berlin DJ Robin Sukroso will kick off the night with his “Acpad guitar”, which allows him to smoothly bridge the gap between acoustic and electronic music. The night will also see sets by disco/funk duo Madboy/Mink and Mumbai electronica artist Sandunes.
