The singer, composer, and Chunky Pandey look-alike is releasing his album this week. Don’t worry, its cool. We can say the n-word because we’re Niigaams, too.
Aadesh Shrivastava, the name behind the music of films like Humko Ishq Ne Mara, Joru Ka Gulam, and International Khiladi, is releasing his newest album Global Sounds Of Peace on January 30, Martyr’s Day, at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai
The show will feature a huge lineup of Bollywood singers including Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kailash Kher, Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh, and Bollywood’s fragile excuse for a rebellious rockstar persona, Sonu Niigaam. Raghu Dixit, vocalist of the eponymous Raghu Dixit Project, will also be part of this event for some reason, as will ’80s Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapure, and Canadian pop-rock vocalist Pamela Lajoie. The singers will be accompanied by London Philharmonic Orchestra conductor David Murphy, and classical violinist L Subramaniam (listen to ‘Motherland’, a track by him, here). Shiamak Davar‘s ever-present dance troupe will be performing, too.
Did you think that was all? Niigaam, please. Also joining Aadesh Shrivastava on stage will be the OD (Original Don) Amitabh Bachchan, star of iconic cinematic works such as Buddah… Hoga Terra Baap, Ganga Ki Saugandh, and Biwi No.1. Additionally hip-hop artist, Akon, will be performing. Akon’s storied history in India involves stolen watches, cancelled birthday bash gigs, and horrifyingly executed Hindi lyrics. One can only hope that this time the performance goes off without a hitch, and no one makes an ‘Akon? Yeh kaun?’ joke.
The entry for the event is free, but on a first-come-first-serve basis, and gates open at 5pm. Check out the artwork for the event below.
