IBW is designed by bikers, for bikers, and will feature three music stages, a Pimp My Bike zone, an MMA Fight stage, and several other compelling reasons for you to travel to Goa next February.
If you’re a biker, then India Bike Week is probably your idea of heaven. February 2 and 3, 2013 will see bike enthusiasts from all over the country converge on Vagator beach, Goa for two days of bikegasms. The festival, designed by bikers for bikers, will feature everything a biker could want for his machine – a test zone and trials track, where attendees get the opportunity to test out some of India’s superbikes, a “Biker Zone” featuring vintage, championship and movie prop bikes, as well as a chop ship theatre, service zones for brand-specific motorbike servicing, a Pimp My Bike zone with customization options as well as a bikini bike wash (oh yeah), a bikers’ flea market for specialised bike parts and other services, a Mixed Martial Arts fight stage, a stunt arena, and three music stages.
Biker groups from over the country have signed up for the festival. Entrants include Delhi’s Born 2 Ride motorcycle club, the Dibrugarh Amateur Riders Union (which cleverly acronyms to D.A.R.U, which you should not be drinking before you ride), and all-woman group The Bikerni.
In preparation for the festival, chai and pakoda breakfast runs are being organised by biker groups over the country. Upcoming rides include one for Bangalore riders on December 9 and one in Kolkata on December 16. For more details, check out the India Bike Week Facebook page.
The band lineup for the festival will be out soon. A launch event for India Bike Week is being held in Mumbai tomorrow and should shed more light on the performing artists. We’ll let you know as soon as we get details.
