The concert, which will be held next week, will also see a set by Bangalore act Ministry Of Blues.
Simply The Blues is a series of concerts that focus on blues music in India in an effort to promote it. The concert is being organised in order to provide a platform for Indian blues musicians because, as the press release for the event informs us, “blues Music festivals in India, are few and far between and this event will promote blues music not just in Mumbai, but expand its reach across India.” The first edition of the concert was held in October at the St Andrews Auditorium in Bandra, and featured performances by Chennai blues band Blues Conscience and Mumbai band Overdrive Trio. The second edition of the concert will see performances by Bangalore blues band Ministry Of Blues and Mumbai guitarist Warren Mendonsa’s (pictured) project Blackstratblues along with special guests (similar to his recent set at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, NCR).
The series will feature a total of four concerts, each taking place once a month. This will be the second concert in the series. The concert will once again be held at the St Andrews Auditorium in Bandra, Mumbai, on Wednesday, November 21. The press release for the concert also tells us that “the two bands for this event are sure to re-define the Blues set.” Tickets for the concert can be purchased from Bookmyshow and will cost between Rs 400 and Rs 1500.
