India’s Happiest Music Festival will be back in Pune this year as well.
The Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2012 will be held in Pune this November for the third consecutive year. India’s Happiest Music Festival will also travel to New Delhi on October 13-14 and Bangalore on December 15-16 (read more about them here and here). The Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2012 will be held at Amanora Park Town, Pune which will host DJs, rock/metal bands, folk-fusion performers and singer-songwriters for three straight days of musical brilliance from November 2-4.
Festival organiser Vijay Nair had this to say about Bacardi NH7 Weekender’s return to Pune.
I have to begin with an apology. The thing about working in a company surrounded by like-minded folks is that we love our share of cheap thrills. When we decided to announce Weekender dates one city at a time, we knew that people in Mumbai and Pune would get restless. But we didn’t anticipate the reaction to be this extreme. This is definitely the good kind of extreme.
A few days ago, I would have imagined this post of mine to be about Pune and why Bacardi NH7 Weekender will always be based out of Pune. But if anyone wants a good reason, they need to just go to Weekender’s Facebook page or follow its Twitter account to witness how passionate people are about the festival. The number of messages from strangers that have landed in my inbox and friends who have threatened to disown me was surprising (and funny). This is still pretty overwhelming for all of us at OML (Only Much Louder) and Bacardi.
We are not leaving Pune anytime soon. The Bacardi NH7 Weekender has a life of its own, and it belongs to the punters who have been there the last two years. It also belongs to the city of Pune where one doesn’t have to try too hard to put together what we’d like to believe is the happiest music festival in the country.
We look forward to seeing you this November and we promise not to run out of Bacardi buckets this time.
Venue details, lineup and ticket information for the Bangalore edition of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2012 will be revealed soon, so stay tuned and hit up the official festival website for updates (we suggest you click on ‘The Good Kind of Extreme’ on the official festival website to see what Vijay Nair meant by ‘extreme reactions!’ #Punebacklash).
