In Pictures: Grateful Dead Tribute @ Blue Frog, Mumbai

  • Aazin Printer
On August 1 at the Blue Frog, Mumbai, Aazin Printer led a tribute to the Grateful Dead, celebrating what would have been Jerry Garcia's 70th birthday. Backing band and special guests included Jehangir Jehangir, Rohan and Ankit from Spud In The Box, RA Talafaral, Ryan Sadri, Hitesh Dhutia and many more. NH7 was there and here's our review of the set.

  • Hitesh Dhutia
Hitesh Dhutia from Junckt was one of the guitarists in the backing band. It's a pity he was pretty much inaudible for most of the show.

  • FA Talafaral
Multi-instrumentalist FA Talafaral, who has played with Sridhar/Thayil, was on keyboard. The man sure knows his stuff but perhaps a more nuanced approach would have better suited the night's music.

  • Jehangir Jehangir
Something Relevant's timekeeper, Jehangir Jehangir, was spot-on all night. JJ's improvisational skills and sense of rhythm are worth mentioning. Clearly a jam band drummer.
