The party will raise funds for founder Justin Mason’s treatment and is being held in order to offer a mark of solidarity and positivity as the Goa-based promoter fights his way back to recovery.
Silent Noise is a silent party/concert in Goa that features three electronica DJs and a crowd of people wearing headphones who can listen to any one of the three as they compete to garner more appreciation from the crowd. The parties take place every Saturday at Neptune Point on the Palolem Beach in Goa and have featured a number of DJs including founder Justin Mason (pictured inside) and Dan Booth, Eve Carey, Ma Faiza among others (more on the Silent Noise DJs here). The parties can also be hired along with equipment and DJs and moved to another venue and regular performances are held all over. A similar party will be taking place at Pebble in Bangalore on July 21. The event will be held in order to raise funds for (founder) Mason’s treatment, who has been in a coma for a month after being injured in a tragic accident in Goa.
We spoke to Silent Noise co-founder Janie O’Connor to find out more about the event
The event is being organised in order to raise funds for Justin’s treatment. He has been in a coma for a month after his bike accident in Goa and everyone is pitching in to help out. His whole family will be flying down from the UK to attend and everyone is pitching in to help out. The DJs playing at the event are going to play for free and everyone working has agreed to work for no charge.
The basic format of the concert will be the same – three DJs will start playing at the same time and the attendees can choose which DJ they wish to listen to by switching the channel on the headphones they will be provided with at the venue. The Bangalore concert is also unique in terms of the fact that it was originally supposed to be a regular Silent Noise party but was converted into a fundraiser at the suggestion of the venue owners. All proceeds from the concert in Bangalore will be used for Mason’s treatment. Silent Noise is also organising another fundraiser in the UK which will feature three resident DJs from Silent Noise. The concert will take place in London on August 25.
The concert being held on July 21 will feature three DJs playing their sets simultaneously from 6pm to 11:30pm and the lineup will feature DJ Ma Faiza, DJ Eve Carey (Ministry Of Sound/Silent Noise) and DJ Nitin of Beyond Logic Records playing simultaneous sets. Check out a poster for the event below.
