Some of the biggest moments in human history have happened over a harmless cup of tea – Raghu Dixit meets the Queen of England, Hitler decides to invade Poland, Mohammed Ali Jinnah and Mohandas Gandhi divide the Indian subcontinent, Alice meets March Hare, Dormouse and Hatter… and now, music happens next to a chaiwala.

The first edition of NH7′s Chaiwala Sessions has The Supersonics vocalist Ananda Sen and lead guitarist Rohan Ganguly performing outside Neelam Chai in Mathurdas Mills Compound, Lower Parel, Mumbai. Sitting on a bench in the sweltering heat (yes, the monsoons hadn’t arrived yet), they performed an acoustic rendition of The Supersonics tune ‘The Living Room Shuffle’. We grabbed them before their comeback gig in the city at the Puma Loves Vinyl event at Mehboob Studios (photos here).
