We wait with bated breath and 50 soft towels in hand as we approach Fatboy Slim’s maiden visit to India. Five days left and counting.
As details trickle in about Fatboy Slim’s maiden India visit, the British big beat DJ plots his two-city tour to Delhi and Bangalore. We had previously announced his impending arrival, shared the kvlt-est press release from the organisers (which was a great resource for our weekly comic Out Of Toon), and how to get tickets for the first gig in Delhi NCR on May 5. The support acts that will be performing along side Fatboy Slim are Arjun Vagale (of “Jalebee Cartels”), Dualist Inquiry, DJ Ivan and host Nikhil Chinapa (who recently talked to us about EDM festival Submerge Supernova, pics here) and Rohit Barker in Delhi and Bangalore respectively.
Norman Quentin Cook aka Fatboy Slim is excited about his trip to India
Great crowds is what an artist craves for and India promises all that and more. India has always been a dream destination for me and it will be a euphoric feeling to see the crowds going insane with eclectic mixes at a phenomenal evening. I am looking forward to it.
Sunburn festival director/VJ/DJ Nikhil Chinapa takes about India as a EDM destination and performing with Fatboy Slim.
Dance music has a huge market worldwide and I’m glad to see a legendary artist like Fatboy Slim finally coming to India. Fatboy Slim’s India tour will further the cause of dance music in the sub-continent and will generate a shift of the genre from niche to mass. A lot of my friends are thrilled to hear that Fatboy Slim is finally making aheadway into the country and bringing his entire production with him. I’m happy to be associated with his first ever tour.
The afterparty in Delhi NCR will be held at Kitty Su with DJ Mash and Nucleya, while in Bangalore the post-concert festivities will be at E-Zone Club with DJ Pearl, Nikhil Chinapa and Rohit Barker.

Oh, and lest we forget, here are a few gems from their press release.
Dualist Inquiry is the brainchild and solo project of Sahej Bakshi, a producer, guitarist and cerebral agent…
… He (Nucleya) is obsessing on crazy sounds and creating even crazier ones in his studio all the time.
His (DJ Mash) ability to channelize his musical energy into untainted enthusiasm on the dance floor leaves his crowd always wanting more of him.
By now, Nikhil (Chinapa) had begun to DJ professionally and plays, well… whatever he feels like. His sets are moody, varied, often erratic but usually fun. Most of his sets feature frantic foot-stomping and the random flailing of arms – sometimes by him. They also feature music – the kind that has a repetitive monotonous beat and is best enjoyed at dangerous decibel levels. Nikhil is also a Festival Director at Sunburn, India’s premiere EDM Festival. It’s a stressful job but creates a bloody good event.
DJ Ivan – He is one of Bangalore’s foremost prime DJ, is unquestionably one of the pioneers of excellent music and entertainment today. It is not only his music that stands in the foreground, but also the integration of strong words and images – always different and mystical, against the current and diverse in terms of “Style”.

Prior to his gigs in India, Fatboy Slim will be performing in Dubai with Travis, Morcheeba, and Zane Lowe. #WTF #jealous
