Preempting the F1 Grand Prix week, Livescape (Malaysia) and Future Entertainment (Australia) come together to bring the first edition of the Future Music Festival Asia on March 17, 2012, at the Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur. This year’s headliners include, The Chemical Brothers, Tinie Tempah, Chase and Status, Pendulum, The Wombats, Grandmaster Flash, and Sneaky Sound System. Along with the international lineup are DJs and musicians from across the Asia region and local Malay acts as well. The Indian contingent at the festival includes the New Delhi electronica act Jalebee Cartel, as well as Nikhil Chinapa and his beau DJ Pearl (all three acts recently performed at the Storm Festival, here).
The Future Music Festival has been going strong in Australia since 2006. They have now decided to bring their massive lineups to the Asia Pacific region. Some of their past headliners included, The Prodigy, David Guetta (who will be coming to India, deets here), Swedish House Mafia, New Order, Paul van Dyk, Dizzee Rascal, Jessie J, Franz Ferdinand, N*E*R*D, MGMT, Ke$ha, Mark Ronson & The Business Intl, and Fatboy Slim.

Our vision for Future Music Festival was for it to become something that is respected and celebrated globally. With Asia on our doorstep and the wealth of talent we now tour from one side of the globe to the other, it makes perfect sense for artists to do as much as possible whilst in this region. We are excited to be announcing what we hope will be embraced as one of Asia’s biggest music festivals in coming years.
