Paul van Dyk Plans Jan 2012 Stops in India

Matthias Paul returns to India for two dates this week. The gigs are part of PvD’s Evolution tour.

2011 was the first year in over a decade that Paul van Dyk dropped out of the top 10 of DJ Mag’s annual top 100 DJs list (the #1 spot went to David Guetta, who will headline the Eristoff Invasion festival this year). PvD has been prepping his sixth studio album, Evolution, which will be released in March 2012. Evolution is the follow-up to 2007′s In Between, and with the new record, a new live show is also promised. The current world #11 DJ will play two shows in India this week, both gigs being part of Dyk’s mammoth Evolution tour.

Tour dates
Friday, Jan 27 – Shiro, New Delhi
Saturday, Jan 28 – Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai

Tickets are available at Eventstation and range from Rs 2,622 (online retailer convenience charge included) for the general entry at the Mumbai gig (including Rs 1,000 cover) and Rs 7,343 for VIP access at the New Delhi gig (which includes Rs 5,000 cover). That’s a fairly pricey proposition, especially when you consider that tickets for entire music festivals come cheaper than that. Still, if you missed PvD at the Sunburn festival in 2010, or just wan’t to rock trip out to ‘Nothing But You’ again, this is your chance.
