Ever played a gig and were so excited that you flicked your plectrum into the audience, only to realise that you haven’t brought a spare? Well that was silly, wasn’t it? Never fear, because now as long as you have the DIY pick punch in your bag and an old credit card, grocery store club card or pretty much anything thin and made of plastic, you can just make another.

If you’re a little OCD about how thick your plectrums need to be, try punching a few thin picks and glue them together. We wouldn’t recommend doing this mid-performance though.
The DIY guitar pick puncher can punch through most things up to 0.9mm thick and the dimensions are similar to those of the 351-style picks (roughly 30mm x 25.5 mm).
It costs $24.99 (roughly Rs 1270) which is a tad pricey for what it is. That said, the convenience of not needing to remember to bring a pick everywhere is awesome. Next up: drum stick chippers, falcon punches and roundhouse kicks.
You can buy the DIY guitar pick punch here and get plastic materials and sanding paper here.
