Sky Rabbit, formerly Medusa, released their long overdue debut album at the Blue Frog, Mumbai on Wednesday, January 04. The quartet played the entirety of Sky Rabbit (EMI, available in stores from January 10) to a packed venue, and threw in some non-album regulars including ‘Who’s Your Daddy’ and ‘Maybe Is Open Tonight’, along with a few covers including set staple ‘Ceremony’ (Joy Division).
The Mumbai electro-rock quartet is currently on an album launch tour, which will see them head to Pune next. The band played an efficient set of nearly 90 minutes non-stop, much to the delight of loyal fans who were particularly taken by Rabbit classics ’Anti-Coke Ganpati’ and ‘Hilltop’.
The band recently gave us a track-by-track breakdown of the new album, and also told us why they changed their name from Medusa to Sky Rabbit (an announcement made at a Blue Frog fixture in September 2011). Check out pictures from the album launch gig at the Frog below.
