British beatboxer Shlomo, who toured India last year, will conduct a new project, Voctronica in India next month. He is organizing Voctronica with the support of the British Council and in association with hip hop platform, Zomba. The aim of Voctronica is to create India’s first beatboxing vocal ensemble; this will be a search for the country’s best beatboxers and vocalists. Vocalists and beatboxers who wish to participate should register for the project by uploading a short audition (not more than five minutes long) onto YouTube and then include the link when registering here. The last date to register is December 10, so keep that in mind if you intend to make the cut.
Aiding him on this project is Scribe frontman Vishwesh Krishanmoorthy, who will bring his considerable vocal repertoire to the table. The first round of auditions will take place online, after which Shlomo has also arranged for fellow beatboxer/MC and member of the Lip Factory, Testament to train ten finalists in an eight-day workshop. Shlomo will then continue to train the ensemble via Skype and they will also get to perform around India.
More about Voctronica as we hear it, but till then check out Shlomo’s mad skillz below.
