The final day of proceedings at the Eristoff Wolves Den saw a smaller lineup of acts, but featured some pretty high-energy performances nonetheless. The stage opened at around 5pm, and as the nip of the evening set in, the size of the audience grew. A mix of live and DJ sets made for an engaging day out at the Eristoff Wolves Den.
DJ Jayant
New Delhi DJ Jayant opened the proceedings at the Eristoff Wolves Den with a quiet start. His brand of minimal house took some time to catch on with punters who were, while open to the music, unwilling to get properly moving till the sun had set a little more.
Riz MC and Nihal
British MC and actor Riz MC kicked off his set with BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal taking his own DJ’s spot behind the console. Riz’s DJ was unable to make it to the festival on account of visa issues, but the setback didn’t stop the Four Lions actor from playing a genre-bending set comprising music from his 2011 album MICroscope. With a willing crowd, Riz played dubstep, drum and bass, grime and UK garage mixes of tracks like ‘Hundreds and Thousands’ and ‘Radar’. We caught up with Riz after his set for an interview (soon on NH7).
Riz completed his set and left Nihal with the responsibility of keeping the upbeat nature of the set up, and setting the stage for Shaa’ir + Func; a task he dispatched with ease and some eclectic house dub (including a dubstep mix of ‘Barbara Streisand’).
Shaa’ir + Func
With Monica Dogra sporting a golden-black, almost superhero costume-esque dress and her sidekick/partner-in-crime Randolph Correia with a black Green Hornet mask, Shaa’ir + Func seemed intent on ensuring that the lasting memory of day three at the Eristoff Wolves Den would be of their performance. They accomplished this by bringing an appropriately heavy set of material spanning their three studio albums, and administering classic, live S+F to a packed Laxmi Lawns. Prompting singalongs during songs like ‘Lord Inside’, Shaa’ir + Func dropped one of the top sets of the entire festival to close the Eristoff Wolves Den.
