Felix Buxton (Basement Jaxx) Headlines Day One at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender

One half of Grammy-winning house giants Basement Jaxx, Felix Buxton brought down the house with his headlining set at the Eristoff Wolves Den.

Felix Buxton (of Grammy-award winning British house duo Basement Jaxx) had a message for his Indian fans before his headlining performance at the Eristoff Wolves Den. “Please come and join me. I’d love to see you and make you dance,” he conveyed via NH7. And everyone was busting moves to Buxton’s beats.

Still reeling from a high-energy set by Midival Punditz, the crowd couldn’t wait to hear Basement Jaxx. However, the set didn’t hit the same high. Buxton’s set started off a bit slow as he played some fairly orthodox early-’90s UK house. The set built up from its slow start and completely changed its profile when suddenly out of the stage speakers boomed Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Every fan belted out the lyrics without even thinking. He then laid down a remix of the first three seconds of The White Stripes’ ‘Seven Nation Army’. He did weave in Basement Jaxx tracks ‘Romeo’ right at the start and ‘Where’s Your Head At?’ right at the end, bringing to a close a fantastic day one at India’s happiest music festival.
