Mumbai metallers Goddess Gagged have been prepping their new album for a while now. We had a look at the promo and the first music video already, but the album is what we are awaiting most eagerly. Goddess Gagged will release Resurfaces on Saturday, November 19 and it will be available at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender (where the band will perform on Sunday, November 20).
We had a word with frontman Siddharth Basrur about the album and he told us about the artists that influenced Goddess Gagged and what they have in mind for the future
I’ll speak for myself, I come from the ’90s… I’m the oldest member of the band, my vocal influences date back from that era. I’m trying to break out of it now, I think I have pretty much managed that with this album. Everything from Queens of The Stone Age (Josh Homme is one of my biggest influences) to Karnivool to Periphery to a lot of other djent bands like Tesseract. We got a few gigs coming up and we’ve already started writing new material. So we won’t be recording anything anytime soon because this album has not even released fully yet. Definitely, somewhere down the line we’d like to record another EP or an album.

Goddess Gagged will play the Bacardi Black Rock Arena at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2011. Tickets are on sale now!
