Sifar is a Hindi rock band from New Delhi. The band recently released it’s debut album titled 1, after the release of a self-titled EP in June this year. The album will be available on iTunes, Amazon and Betafactory music, and is currently available on the band’s website as a free download. Sifar is currently working on a music video, details soon. The album features the songs ‘Commonwealth Insaan’ and ‘Roko Na Mujhe’ and the whole album can be streamed from our 1 page.
We asked vocalist Amit Yadav about why the band chose the name 1 for the album
Our band name is Sifar and Sifar comes form Urdu/Arabic origin and it means “zero”. We launched a three-track EP in June, so that EP was self-titled so we considered that as a starting point. So that EP was called Sifar. This is our first album so this is called 1 and hopefully it will continue in the sense that the second album will be called 2 and so on.
