Legendary singer Asha Bhosle entered the Guinness World Records today for most single studio recording sessions. The mind-blowing record stands at 11,000 solos, duets and chorus-backed songs in over 20 Indian languages since 1947! This enormous body of work was compiled and verified by Vishwas Nerurkar and he submitted it to Guinness World Records.
The sheer scope of the undertaking is so vast that we broke it down into smaller, more easily digestible facts.
- If we assume that she recorded 11,000 songs which are on average five minutes long, that means that the time it would take to play back her recordings would be 55,000 minutes or 916.6 hours or 38.1 days.
- If we assume that each song would about 4MB in size then all her recordings put together would be 44,000 MB or 42.9 GB. This would be enough to fill 11 iPod Shuffles (4 GB) or three iPod Nanos (16 GB).
It is no wonder that Asha Bhosle inspired this song.
