New Delhi rock act Indian Ocean played Rajpath, New Delhi on Saturday, October 1 as a part of the Red Bull Speed Street India. The event was a buildup to the Formula 1 Grand Prix to be held in Noida, India from the 28th-30th Oct (Metallica and Lady Gaga are playing gigs supporting the race as well).

The organizers made every attempt to give the event a desi feel, with Red Bull Racing driver Daniel Ricciardo dancing with a Bhangara group and Indian Ocean kickstarting the event. After the Indian Ocean sound check, the demonstrations began with motorcycle stunts by a group of five bikers called ‘Ghost Riders’, and six Renault Koleos drifting on the Rajpath. Indian Ocean played popular tracks like ‘Kandisa’ (stream here), and ‘Bandeh’ which featured in the Bollywood film Black Friday.

Overheard during soundcheck, Amit Kilam of Indian Ocean on the PA, “Jaldi kar yaar, gaadi dekhni hai.” (Hurry up, we need to see the (F1) car.)
