Gig season is here! And, at the end of the month, so is Metallica. The American metal giants will play their first gigs in the country this month. The band slated to play two gigs here – the first gig (on October 28) is part of the F1 Rocks series for the inaugural Indian Grand Prix in New Delhi, and the second (on October 30) is the recently resurrected Rock ‘N India festival in Bangalore. A whole bunch of Indian and international bands are touring the country this month. Shillong blues act Soulmate are on the road again, playing 10 gigs in cities like Bangalore, New Delhi and Chennai. San Francisco indie rock band Rupa & The April Fishes will hit three cities in India this month; this tour marks the first time the band will be performing in the country. Norwegian punk act Social Suicide will also hit four cities this month. The band will play with local support acts in each city they perform; supports include Scribe and Goddess Gagged. Sidd Coutto will release his debut solo album this month with a launch gig at the Blue Frog, Mumbai on Wednesday, October 5. The Mumbai singer-songwriter is better known for his contributions to alternative rock bands like Tough On Tobacco and Zero, and embarks on a solo career with this long overdue solo album.

Bangalore alternative rock act Thermal And A Quarter head to the capital this month for a gig with homeboys Indigo Children. This double bill hits Attitude, Gurgaon on Friday, October 7. Check out pics of TAAQ’s last gig in the capital, at F Bar in June.

B.R.E.E.D will hit High Spirits, Pune on Sunday, October 23. The DJ, better known as DJ Nasha, released his new EP Incu-Bass last month. Check out our interview with B.R.E.E.D.
