What, whaaat! Hip hop giants Ludacris, Flo Rida and Jay Sean will perform at the opening ceremony of the Champions League T20 tournament on Thursday, September 22. That’s right, the men behind modern hip hop gold like ‘Get Back’, ‘Right Round’ and ‘Down’ will bring an assault of big misogynistic rhymes and beats to Palace Grounds this month. Given the lineup, it’s but natural to speculate on the thinking process behind booking artists like these to launch a major cricket tournament, but we gave up questioning these decisions after the World Cup.
While Flo Rida and Jay Sean have toured India in the past (Jay Sean recently completed a four-city tour of the country), this will be Ludacris’ first gig in the country and is a reassuring remider that he’s not just all about drifting these days. Tickets for the gig are priced at Rs 1,000 and will be available on Ticket Genie soon.
