Shaa’ir + Func are on tour this month! The Mumbai electro-rockers return to live gigging with the I Am, We Are, You Is tour that hits four cities – Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Pune – this month. S+F is one of the best live acts in the country; their gig at the Blue Frog last year to launch their third studio-album Mantis was rated our best gig of the year. British metal act Cypher16 return to the country for a short tour that hits four cities – Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Pune. The alt-metallers have toured India twice previously, and last year performed at The Great Indian Octoberfest in Bangalore (pictures). Cypher16 recently released a new EP titled The Metaphorical Apocalyse (stream here), and their tour this month features support slots by a whole bunch of Indian metal acts including Bhayanak Maut, Eccentric Pendulum and others. Fusion act Rishi INC play a set at 1 Boulevard, Saket on Wednesday, September 7. The band’s music combines elements of folk, rock and jazz, and this home set comes after a performance at Harem, Garden of Five Senses earlier this month. The 1 Boulevard gig is a free-entry affair.

New Delhi garage-punk act Indigo Children play a set at Cafe Morrison, New Delhi on Friday, September 9. The band’s sound has changed dramatically since the time they were known as The Superfuzz Bigmuff. Check out pics of them performing at the Escape Festival in Naukuchiatal earlier this year.

Shillong blues masters Soulmate (pictured) play a set at the Blue Frog, Mumbai on Tuesday, September 20. The band has always been well received in the city (their gig at the same venue in 2009 was one of our highest rated gigs that year), and the Lower Parel venue suits the band’s sound, powered by frontlady Tipriti ‘Tips’ Kharbangar, particularly well. This gig will be their first gig in the country after returning from a short tour of Norway later this month.
