Amit ‘The Groovebox’ Gurbaxani once described now-defunct Mumbai live music venue Razzberry Rhinocerous as a “band incubator”. Razz gave birth to many a Mumbai rock/metal/punk band and saw some of the kvltest live performances on its makeshift stage. Now, the venue opens up once again for the announcer party of our very own three-day music festival, the Bacardi NH7 Weekender.
Almost every single gig at Razz had its own kvlt gig poster. While we would’ve loved to give you a complete semiotic analysis of each one, we’ve picked some of the most remarkable we could find, and have, um, remarked. Check ‘em out below!

Kvlt font usage was always the easiest way to spot a Razz poster. Also, bleeding metchul fonts were given first preference, even for something like "Music For Peace".

Apart from being the Malcolm McLaren of the Indian punk scene, Rishu Singh's gig poster designs were always stellar.

This image of guitar virtuouso Brett Lee (see Indiecision archives) waiting to take a catch was used in multiple gig posters around the time of this Razz gig.

The Resurrection series of gigs were some of the best attended gigs at Razz. Props to Demonic Resurrection frontman Sahil Makhija for making them happen.
Search your old HDD/check your blog archives for kvlt Razz posters. Send them to us at kvlt at nh7 dot in and we’ll put them up on this page!
