The inaugural edition of our three-day music festival, the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, was held between December 10-12, 2010 in Pune. The festival saw over 50 bands perform across eight stages (check out a selection of the best photos from the festival here). The good people at Babble Fish Productions put together an engrossing, 55-minute documentary on the festival that features live performances from the bands that performed at the festival, along with the story of how the festival came about.
Samira Kanwar, director of the documentary, told us about the film
Making a documentary film about three days of back-to-back music across over eight stages, 60 bands, and 6,000 people isn’t exactly something that one can do in their sleep. In fact, a lot of sleepless nights, charged conversations, hardcore planning later, armed with a crew of over 40 people to just handle the shoot, we ended up with over 100 hours that we needed to squeeze in to 60 minutes.
Over the last nine months, we have dedicated a large part of our lives to trying to depict the Bacardi NH7 Weekender in an as honest light as possible and though nothing we do will ever seems good enough to replicate the kind of magic those three days brought to peoples lives, we’re hoping a bit of it filters down into the documentary we’ve dedicated a large part of our lives to over these past nine months.
The documentary will be premiered at the announcer party for this year’s instalment of the festival at Razzberry Rhinocerous on Thursday, August 25. Check out the trailer of the film below.
