Rahman To Compose For New Animation Film

AR Rahman scores yet another international project, this time inspired by the Ramayana.

Features Writer

AR Rahman seems to have permanently taken shelter in Hollywood after the success of Slumdog Millionaire and the more recent 127 Hours. Having bagged two Oscars, Grammys, and topping several international charts, the Mozart of Madras is now set to compose for a Hollywood project seeking inspiration from the Ramayana. Backed by DreamWorks Animation, Kevin Lima, of Tarzan fame will be directing the project scripted by Gurinder Chadha and Paul Berges of the disastrous Bride and Prejudice. The film is, according to Hindustan Times, a “Bollywood-style animated musical adventure”, and is titled Monkeys Of Mumbai.

Recently, Rahman joined Mick Jagger-led supergroup, SuperHeavy alongside Joss Stone, Dave Stewart and Damain Marley. The band recently released their debut single ‘Miracle Worker’, and an in-studio clip where our man Rahman seems much maligned; like a real, fifth Beatle.

He has also recently been kvlt. Watch the SuperHeavy in-studio clip below.
