Mumbai death metal act Demonic Resurrection announced the cancellation of their UK tour recently via the band’s Facebook page. As reported previously, the band had lined up five shows in England this month, including a slot at the Sonisphere festival this past Sunday. Dreams and darkness united for the Mumbai metal band as UK visa authorities unleashed an unrelenting surge of vengeance upon them by failing to issue travel documents in time for the trip. DR briefly considered making the remainder of their dates even after missing Sonisphere, but when visas had still not arrived on Monday, June 11, the band decided to cancel the tour outright in the interest of promoters and fans. Tour merch in the form of a ‘Conquering UK’ t-shirt is now on sale, as the band attempts to recover some portion of the “small fortune” spent on setting up the tour. A tragedy befallen, indeed.
In other Demonstealer news, comedy rock band Workshop announced that they would be disbanding on June 30 (also via Facebook). After the band announced that bassist Riju Dasgupta would be leaving the band on June 29, the band announced auditions the next morning only to decide to call it quits instead in the span of 4 hours and 35 minutes. The band was in the process of writing and recording their second album (stream their first release, Khooni Murga here). No decision has been taken yet regarding the completion of the recording process or the subsequent release of new material.
Cheers, and stay melancholic :(
