The Storm Festival is scheduled to be held over 48 hours between November 11-12 this year at an un-named hamlet near the town of Madikeri, Coorg. The news comes via the horrendously-designed festival website that seems to have been inspired in equal parts by Pandora, home of the N’avi, and clown puke.
Organized by Liquid Space Entertainment in association with Submerge (the same peeps that held the Submerge Supernova in Bangalore last month), it appears as though the festival will be tilted towards electronica and associated genres. No acts have been announced yet, but there is a link where users can suggest potential additions to the lineup. The location is set in the hills, by a lake, and the event is being billed as “India’s first camp-out Music Festival.” Although that might not be wholly accurate, it still sounds pretty excellent.
Last month, The Tamara Confluence was scheduled to be held in Coorg, but had to be canceled after locals blockaded the entrance to the venue. The Storm Festival organizers would do well to avoid pissing off the locals; angry Coorgis and EDM do not mix particularly well.
