The title says it all, really. Acclaimed Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam has announced his intention to for a Hindi hard rock band. The act will be called Nirvaan, presumably named after the singer’s son. Nirvaan will be launched in collaboration with almost-famous music director Gourov Dasgupta, whom you may remember from films such as Dus Kahaaniyan, Raaz – The Mystery Continues and most recently, Chalo Dilli.
Speaking to the venerated online publication, BollySpice.com, Dasgupta had this to share about the new project.
NIRVAAN, India’s biggest rock band is coming soon, featuring SONU’god’NIGAM and GOUROV DASGUPTA!”
Can’t wait. Unfortunately, news of this particular collaboration didn’t have quite the same oomph as Nigam’s previous announcement. In March, the singer revealed that a track with none other than Bryan Adams was in the works. Check out our coverage of that monumental bit of news here, as well as a sampler of Nigam’s other numerous mis-steps along the years.

As always, good people of the interwebs, stay tuned.
