The Lightyears Explode
Thank you for downloading our EP. If you like what’s coming out of your speakers, please feel free to spread it as far as you can. Sometimes Indian bands don’t put in enough effort to release music regularly, but hopefully you’ll see a lot more of us very soon. In the words of Kim from Sex Bob-Omb, “We are here to make money and sell out and stuff!”

Liner Notes
‘She Probably Still Is’
We wrote this song somewhere around 2009 and it is the second song to come out of The Lightyears Explode (song) lineup. Originally called ‘Hannah’, the song is about a girl who you didn’t want but almost got married to anyway.
‘Masala Punk’
One of our favorite songs on the EP, the track started off with a verse-melody. Post that we kept a simple arrangement around the two elements and ‘Masala Punk’ was born.
‘The Gay Song’
The year 2010 was a good and a not-so-good year for us. This song represents not getting bogged down by the not-so-good and keeping a positive perspective (that things will change for the better) on the overrated need for education, boring, lackluster gigs and other travesties.
‘Pretenses And Other Forms Of Fakegiri’
We wrote this song to show our love to three people who now matter very little in our lives. Based on three characters, it describes one pretentious $*@#$*, another spineless human and one girl (code name: Hannah) who had an equally watered-down gut.
‘The Weapon’
This song, for us, describes an awkward ‘three-wheel’ kind of situation. This was the first ever The Lightyears Explode song we wrote and we haven’t looked back since.
