British post-punk troublemakers Arctic Monkeys are gearing up to release their fourth studio album. The provocatively titled Suck It And See will be released on Monday, June 6 on Domino. The 12-track album, produced by Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford, is the follow-up to 2009′s Humbug.
Humbug was produced by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme along with Ford, with much of the recording taking place at the Rancho De La Luna in California. Homme’s post-grunge influence on the album is clear on first listen itself. Lush, lazy, guitar-heavy refrains formed the backbone of a crucial album for the Sheffield quartet. With Ford promising a more “vintage” sound on the new record, expect the evolution of the Monkeys time in the desert to be a lot more definitive on this outing. A clear example of the same is on this new single.
