Pentagram Overcome Technical Problems For Gurgaon Invasion

The Mumbai electro rock pioneers fought power issues at the start of their Eristoff Invasion set in Gurgaon for a tight performance with The Prodigy in attendance. Details inside.

Mumbai electro rockers Pentagram started their set at the New Delhi leg of the Eristoff Invasion festival with technical issues at HUDA Grounds, Gurgaon. The band had to scrap set opener ‘Drive’ (a new, Invasion-special version of the song; one that demands a studio version) about midway through after losing power on stage. A short break later, the band was back for a set similar to the one at Palace Grounds, Bangalore two days earlier.

With the act that to a large extent shaped their electro-rock sound, The Prodigy, in attendance, the band put on a high-energy show for the packed Gurgaon audience. Continuing their preview of new material from their forthcoming fourth studio album Bloodywood, the band powered through six new songs in their eight song set. Surprisingly, the capital saw no overenthusiastic (read inebriated) punters near the barricade pointing manically at frontman Vishal Dadlani and shouting, “Sheila ki jawaani”. Set highlight: ‘Lovedrug Climbdown’.
