IIT Student #1: Bro, what do we do about this year’s Livewire headliner.
IIT Student #2: Dunno yaar, it’ll have to be better than Sumo wrestling though.
IIT Student #1: True, true. Let’s play about four hours straight of UT and then say the name of the first band that comes to our minds.

<four hours later>

IIT Student #1: Mmm Maggi.
IIT Student #2: Exactly, Katatonia.

Swedish alt metal giants Katatonia will headline the 2010 edition of IIT Bombay’s annual cultural festival Mood Indigo’s rock competition Livewire. The quintet from Stockholm will hit IIT Bombay’s amphitheatre on Tuesday, Dec 21. Last year’s headliners were Brit prog rockers Porcupine Tree. Registrations for Livewire’s competition are now open.

The Swedish metallers aren’t the only European metal acts headed to Indian shores in the next few months. Italian goth act Lacuna Coil will play Bangalore’s Octoberfest this month and British metal act De Profundis are on tour in the country over the next few weeks as well. In addition, a bunch of big name metal bands, including Meshuggah, will play this year’s edition of Great Indian Rock.
