JD Rock Awards Nominees Announced

The other Indian indie awards have got their nominees. The ceremony for Jack Daniel’s annual rock awards will take place at Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai on Friday, Feb 5 (check out what happened last year). The event will see the announcement of winners in several categories including ‘Best Band of the Year’, ‘Best Album of the Year’ and ‘Best Song of the Year’. These three categories have been opened up to public voting (via the ill-updated awards website). Among the nominees for ‘Best Band of the Year’ are Indie of the Year winners Swarathma, and blues-rock act Soulmate (pictured). Kolkata rock act The Supersonics (who won our Best Album and Best Song honours) are surprise exclusions from the lists.

1. Swarathma – ‘Yeshu, Allah Aur Krishna’
2. Junkyard Groove – ‘It’s OK’
3. Medusa – ‘March’
4. Them Clones – ‘My Life’
5. Slain – ‘More Than Conquerors’
