Bangalore alternative act Lounge Piranha played the Hard Rock Cafe in Mumbai recently. We were there.

Notes

  1. Indiecision Indie of the Year ’08 nominees Lounge Piranha are infrequent visitors to Mumbai. They last played the city a year ago when a strike in the area meant very few people turned up for the gig.
  2. It wasn’t as if Hard Rock Cafe was packed, but there definitely were more people than the band played to last time.
  3. With a new bassist and a bunch of new songs, the quintet from Bangalore put on an efficient showing of their brand of pop-post-rock.
  4. A small contingent of hardcore LP loyalists sang most of the songs off the band’s debut album Going Nowhere back to them.
  5. The new material varies between peppy twee-alternative and softcore noise-rock, the latter performed without the bassist. (video soon)
  6. They’ve got great t-shirts.

We took a bunch of pictures at the gig. Here are a few.
