Unconvention Mumbai Announced

Unconvention is a music conference aimed at the grass roots of the music industry. It brings together music industry people dedicated to finding solutions and not just, well, conference. After several successful Unconventions in Europe, Unconvention comes to Mumbai this month courtesy the British Council and the folks over at OML. November 21-22 will see music biz innovators from around the world converge at the British Council auditorium to “discuss, debate; provide insight and inspiration.”

Unconvention is about the music industry; what makes it tick and what makes it stagnate. It is about you as an artist; how you can evolve and how you can get your music heard. It is about the labels who champion this music. It is about everyone who works with or wants to work with music whether they are promoters or publicists.

Basically, if you’re doing anything related to Indian indie, you should be at Unconvention Mumbai. Musicians, promoters, label execs, marketers, roadies, groupies – this means you. Here’s your chance to not only to learn some valuable lessons about promoting your music, but also to network with some of the top innovators in the music industry from around the world. If there was one thing we felt hampered Baajaa Gaajaa (the Indian indie music conference that took place in Pune earlier this year) most, it was the conspicuous absence of Indian indie artists to whom such an event would’ve been very beneficial. Unconvention is ready to cover travel expenses for 100 musicians who’d like to attend the event from outside the city.
