Chennai grunge act Null Friction released their debut album Madras earlier this year, then made it available as a free download on that Gimmesound thing. The Silverchair inspired, alt-grunge trio now have a stop-motion video for the title song of the album.
‘Madras’ is one of the highlights of the record; a moody turn from the band’s usual angsty self. The video, directed by Vasundhara Shankari, is comprised of 800 photographs put together in an interesting stop-motion concept that features the band and shots of their home city. It’s one of the better videos we’ve seen from an Indian band this year (but nothing like the best).
Here’s ‘Madras’.
