Guns N’ Roses India Tour: Confirmed*

Here’s what we knew about the Guns N’ Roses India tour till yesterday

1. Mysterious Indian classical music and real estate event promoter Rhapsody Inc set up a website that claimed Guns N’ Roses would play the Palace Grounds, Bangalore on November 7.
2. When we asked the company about the gig, they said all would be revealed on September 15.
3. The site was then taken down for about 12 hours.
4. When it came back up, the Nov 7 date had been removed and the phone number of the company’s Bangalore office had been taken off as well.

Today’s Asian Age/Deccan Chronicle features an interview with Raj Sinha, the director of Rhapsody Inc, who claims that the tour is most definitely on, and that Axl Rose, and some other guys, will in fact perform in India. He said

Yes, it is true that we are bringing Guns N’ Roses to India. As of now I can tell you that the Bengaluru concert has been confirmed. We’re still in talks with people in Mumbai and Delhi, so let’s hope that works out. However, there is a good chance we can take the band to Shillong as well. The band was supposed to have played there on September 19, but for some reason it didn’t work out.

The gig will be an Axl & Friends affair with Axl Rose being joined by Dizzy Reed, new guitarist DJ Ashba, a mystery person by the name ‘Troy’ and two other mystery dudes.

I can confirm that Axl Rose and Dizzy Reed will be there. DJ Ashba, their latest entrant, will be there. There will also be a person called Troy and two other members.

If that doesn’t inspire confidence in the hearts of young Guns N’ Roses fans, then we don’t know what will. Also, the picture above is a screenshot from the latest avatar of the Rhapsody Inc website. Just saying.
