Watch: ‘Silent Movies’ – Sajid Akbar

Sajid And The Last Boys was one of our picks for Most Promising Indie ’08, on the back of a strong debut album Kid Without Candy. The Delhi based singer-songwriter will play in Mumbai next week (July, 8) at the Blue Frog as part of Rolling Stone Live.

‘Silent Movies’ is a song off Kid Without Candy. The video, directed by Kenny Png, is a mix of interpretive and narrative. The video is shot in Singapore, where the album was recorded and released last year (it will be released by RSJ Records in India, as a free CD with a copy of the new issue of the magazine). While the song itself is a largely abstract emotive, the video is well shot and produced.

We’ll be checking out Akbar and his band in Mumbai. For more, head to his MySpace.
