Indo-Brit bass-tronic artist Shri played the Blue Frog on Thursday June 18. It was the venue’s 500th gig; a free entry affair that wasn’t as packed as we expected. And not as exciting either.

Notes

  1. DJ Badmarsh’s opening 30 minute DJ set was abstract, disjointed, and terribly boring
  2. Shrikanth Sriram plays the bass well, also the flute, and assorted electronic devices
  3. Vishal Dadlani singing with lyrics sheet in hand < Vishal Dadlani singing without paper
  4. The Brit dude beatboxing and doing unscripted spoken word pieces was fun, but looked like a Tamilian bus conductor replete with sweaty towel over shoulder
  5. Nandini Srikar has become the go-to ‘Indian’ vocalist of choice for international acts playing at the Blue Frog
  6. This was the first Shri gig we checked out, and we still could tell that this wasn’t one of his best

We took a bunch of pictures at the gig. Here are a few.
