Folk rock act Swarathma recently completed a mini tour of the UK courtesy the British Council SoundPad project (Indigo Children, Advaita and Medusa also participated). Currently, one of the most prolific Indian acts online, the band documented the tour via regular blogs and Twitter updates. Lead singer Vasu Dixit also videod much of the band’s experience in the UK. The result is From Cauvery To Thames, a short feature on Swarathma’s UK tour.
The video itself is an interesting insight into the band’s adventures as they played seven gigs in five cities over two weeks. While its not the best produced piece of band videography we’ve seen, it’s largely entertaining, featuring live performances of some of the band’s songs, and crowd reactions to the same.
Swarathma is reaching that sweet spot where engaging their audience, both on stage and of it, is becoming habit. When they released their debut album, they did a terribly fun tour diary with us. We sincerely hope they can keep it up. Listen up Indian bands! This is what you need to be doing!
